Lone Pine is the opposite of all that. Good WiFi, a solid desk, a warm floor, and nothing else competing for your attention. I shipped a side project I'd been dragging for months in two days flat. Evenings I put on a record from the vinyl collection and just sat there with a beer, watching the light change through the trees. Honestly the most productive vacation I've ever taken.

I came here three days before a manuscript deadline, half-convinced I'd made a mistake leaving the city. Then I sat down at the desk, opened my laptop, and the next thing I knew it was 2 AM and I'd written eleven pages — more than the entire previous week combined.
